While our fous at Avisienna Dental Clinic is on preventive care, we perform tooth extractions on a regular basis. We are always looking for approaches to avoid an extraction by keeping your oral health in good form. Teeth that are too badly decayed, misplaced wisdom teeth and severe crowding of teeth are some of the factors that lead to tooth extraction.
It is done under local anaesthesia that may be injected into your gums. Many steps are carefully taken to ensure that any area that is involved is numb and pain-free before any extraction is done.
During your teeth examination with our dentist, we will advise you if your tooth can be saved or if a tooth extraction is the best option in order to prevent spreading of infection and ultimately stopping your discomfort.
We are here to help you decide on the right treatment for you and if you have any questions you’d like to ask, feel free to contact us at any time!

FAQ
- HOW MUCH DOES A SURGICAL EXTRACTION COST?
The price starts from RM 700 and the cost varies as it depends on the complexity of the extraction. There may be an initial estimation of cost but the exact cost of extraction will be calculated after the procedure. *price from pristine dental and will change according to Avisienna rates*
- DO EXTRACTIONS HURT?
During the procedure there will be no pain but you will feel a little pressure. The anaesthesia will numb the area around the tooth that will be extracted. However, after the extraction and the anaesthesia subsides, there may be some discomfort or pain felt. Do not worry as we will provide painkillers which you can take when you are in pain. Please come back to see the dentist if the pain worsens over the next few days.
- CAN I EXTRACT MULTIPLE TEETIH IN ONE GO?
This is possible but it depends on the situation. The dentist will determine the extraction plan accordingly after assessing the situation.
- CAN I EAT IMMEDIATELY AFTER I EXTRACT MY TOOTH?
We advise eating cold food/drink after extraction. This will soothe the discomfort and pain as well as makes it easier for boold clots to form. Avoid hot food/soup for a few days as it may loosen the blood clot and may lead to infection. Do not drink liquids through straws as well as the pressure may break blood clots and start bleeding.
- I’M STILL BLEEDING AFTER EXTRACTION. SHOULD I BE WORRIED?
Bleeding after extraction is normal. We will provide gauze pieces for you to bite and apply pressure for blood clots to form. The blood clot may bleed again if it is disturbed by hot food/drink or using straws to drink.
In the case that the bleeding doesn’t stop after 24 hours, please call us. In extreme cases where substantial bleeding occurs, you may be required to go to a hospital.
